So the past 10 days have been hard, the hardest in a long time.
As most of you know I have very limited people whom I call family, and 3 of those people basically can’t be bothered to come to the wedding.
Which, well you know what, it sucks. Tom and I had talked prior and offered to help them with the flights if they needed it, but they couldn’t even be bothered. I got short excuses only after I asked, repeatedly if they were able to attend.
Now, why am I telling you this?
Ahhhhh because there is a moral to this story!
( isn’t there always)
I was quite sad for about a day, then decided it was indeed a blessing.
After all, if someone “can’t be bothered” to attend the most special day in my grown up life, then I shouldn’t want them there.
Upon further reflection I realized my mentality of “ I would never miss their most special day if I was able to attend”, isn’t fair to put on others. We just have to let others be who they are, and we can adjust our own actions accordingly. For 2 of these folks I have gone out of my way my entire life, and while I love them … that reflects upon my feelings for them and not code versa. And that’s ok!
Also I decided to be more thankful to those who are making the effort to attend.
There’s another piece of family drama, but I type this next to the most handsome man who happens to be asleep, so I’ll save that for another time.

I’m trying to get back to normalcy and whatever that entails.
For now the focus is getting sleep every night, it does not have to be great, but I have to try.
Today is a hard day - the very real effects of an affair means I am at risk and need to be tested.
I’ll get through this, it’s just hard
